THE BOUNCE BACK

I'm happy to say I'm back home writing this from the comfort of my own bed. The past two weeks  have been a mega load of craziness, from driving back and forth from Dayton to Greenville to Versailles to Columbus to Cincinnati to Cleveland and dancing, teaching, choreographing, competing and training with a ballroom champion—needless to say, I feel like super woman (hello, confidence boost? or maybe just hello exhaustion?)

But this isn't a venting session, although it is nice to spew out my hectic schedule for the past two weeks, this is about the bounce back. You know, the moment of getting back into your "normal" routine or getting back on track.

Recently, I've been all about wellness and learning to take better care of myself mentally, physically and emotionally. I've been really honing into what I eat, exercising regularly and surrounding myself with positivity and things that will benefit me—especially after coming back from traveling, dancing and stress, I need all the care and love imaginable.

So here are some of my fav things that help me bounce back:

The best thing for me and my skin after wearing a ton of stage makeup for performances and competitions is a face mask. I'm a face mask junkie, I'll admit, so this one was perfect for my tired skin. After traveling and sweating so much from dancing, I needed to cleanse and reawaken my skin.

Ok, most of my friends (and students) already know I am juice freak. So this drink did not disappoint. After traveling and dancing long hours, my body just aches and my feet swell sooo bad, so I've been really into Turmeric. It helps with inflammation and all in all just really makes me feel so much better as a whole. On another health note, I have been slowly eliminating dairy out of my diet because I realized I just felt "ugh" after consuming it—so this drink is dairy andddddd soy free. (a double plus for me!)

It also comes in another drink flavor. Both can be found at Whole Foods (another addiction).

Here's an obvious and easy solution to help me center myself. There's not much to say about this other than scents and candles are my weakness and they really do affect me, and this one is perfection. This is my all-time favorite candle scent: Lavender and Eucalyptus. Seriously, you should get it—I'm telling you it's amazing.

This brand carries lots of other "moods" and scents, and can be found at Target.

With the constant choreography car sessions I have, it's nice to listen to something other than music. I've been listening to The School of Greatness—you know those things that just makes your soul happy and you feel inspired and lifted by it? This podcast is it. The emotional drainage and exhaustion is real, and this podcast really rejuvenates my mind.

I never used to be a bath person until I realized how luxurious the combination a hot bath accompanied by candles, a bath bomb and a glass of wine is. This really helps me relax and not in an unproductive lazy way. Not to mention, I like to have clean sheets after a long week—so the combination of clean sheets and a relaxing bath is a nice fresh start to a new week.

Let's be real, Lush has amazing bath bombs.

Some other simple things that help me get back on track is staying hydrated, as always because traveling tends to consist of tasty food and drinks and less water—at least it does for me. So until the next time, now I am (kinda) back on schedule.

(And hopefully more content coming in the future!)

What things do you do to bounce back from stress or traveling, and how do you get back into the groove of things?
