YEAR ONE
It's official! With a Side of Lemons is one year old today.
This blogging thing is serious work, people. It's not just lay in bed all day and write (or is it?). No, but in all seriousness, I never would've guessed it would take this much time just to produce and plan content.
So I have so much respect for the mega-bloggers out there.
Truth is though—aside from WASOL being one-year-old today—I've been feeling very uninspired and unmotivated lately.
Maybe it's because my official job throughout the year has ended for the season—all that stress, time and energy gave me a big, fat empty tank associated with my well-being. Nevertheless, I'm trying to keep a steady stride before I really just collapse on the couch and never get up until September.
Staying inspired and forming a creative community around me is probably the most important things right now, and lucky me, I actually have the opportunity to use my time to do that since I'm a freelancer during the summer.
But my go-getter attitude is nowhere to be found. Why am I telling you this? Because 1. I'm working on honesty and not always creating a beautiful picture like we all do on social media and 2. We all have these days, the days when we just feel in a funk—so you're not alone.
Truth is I'm not where I want to be with my blog and what started out as a fun and creative way to connect and share my thoughts has turned into lots of solo work that deals with trial and error along the way—but it's life, right?
Welcome to the real world, G. Like ok, I get it universe, throw me some inspo and fellow creatives my way once in a while, ok?
At least we know my sense of humor hasn't gone anywhere (or should I say lack of sense of humor).
Anyway, it's definitely easy to look at others and compare yourself to their journey and growth. It's part of life I think everyone experiences probably on a day-to-day basis—blah. But in the wise words of Aaliyah, "If at first you don't succeed, then dust yourself off and try again."
(jam to it, live it, love it, friends.)
So here's to another year hopefully with growth, lots of learning, meeting new people, and more content for all of you.
Thanks to everyone who has been a supporter this year of me and my lemon babe. You guys rock!
Now, I ask you:
What do you do to get out of a funk?
