SQUAD GOALS

I think we sometimes underestimate the power of good mentors—especially multi-generational mentors.

I'm not sure if it was my upbringing or just my high curiosity for wanting to know more about life, business and relationships—the list goes on and on—but one thing I know is that the most valuable thing is it's about who you know, not what you know.

Part of our process in life is to invest in relationships that will help us grow and evolve into better people—whether that be professionally or personally.

Mentors provide invaluable advice and knowledge that I think we, as in the younger generation, tend to take for granted. Whether we're ready to expand our careers or move on from a relationship, being able to build our own ideas with the tools of others can up our game majorly.

Life in general is a daunting task, right? Let's be real, they weren't joking when they said, "welcome to the real world." But while we're lingering on our high expectations and fearing obstacles, why don't we take a moment to find real admirable people, who we can positively integrate into our lives to help give us a boost of confidence, gain a new perspective and maybe even help launch us in the right direction.

The mentors I have in my life have given me so much knowledge and guidance that I know without them I wouldn't be where I am today. Aside from the comfort of knowing you can turn to someone for advice, it's also a gift to be able to get to know someone including how they handle failure and success, along with how they approach certain situations.

With that being said, that doesn't mean we have to follow their path step by step. Our priorities and values may be different, but there's something so powerful about having an ocean-full of diverse opinions and perspectives for us to learn from.

It can be such a pivotal moment in our lives when we're able to explore the possibilities and open ourselves up by receiving feedback in order to grow. And hopefully in the end, the intention is to pay it forward and enlighten someone with your process and your viewpoints. Seriously, reciprocity is a beautiful thing.

Find a variety of people in every aspect of your life who you value and who you can create strong intentional relationships with. Find the mentors who push you to expand your mind, who can guide you, who can be the shoulder you cry on, who can make you laugh, who can give you advice, who can be your cheerleader and who can give you the tools you need to make your life extraordinary.

I mean come on, the squad goals are enormously real—so don't settle. Get that dream team, girl.
