I'M BAAAAAACK!
Anyone else feel like the year is flying by?!
Hey you, I'm back! (Well hopefully.) All of a sudden I blinked my eyes and we're almost in December — what, how, why?
I feel like I've been scraping the surface just trying to get by with my work (both main hustle and side hustle) plus balancing family and friends and traveling all over Ohio basically. This adult thing is real guys, and before I can take a breath I still have to get through the holidays and...(dun,dun,dun) Nutcracker season.
But let's do a quick update since maybe you've forgotten who I am — it's ok, sometimes I do too.
So it's been quite a while since my last blog post. I know, take a "hello my name is" sticker and write "Slacker" because hey, that's me. But in all seriousness, I've been working, dealing with life (you know, the personal ups and downs) and occasionally enjoying a glass of wine and binging on Netflix.
As most of you know, I am still co-director of Dayton Ballet's preprofessional company, DBII, which each year, along with my students I feel like I grow as a teacher and as a person, so it's really fulfilling to witness both evolutions.
(p.s. Any studios or students who are interested in private lessons or booking me to come teach for their studio, visit my dance page and fill out the form.)
I also manage social media for an athleisure wear company called Mira Rae — if you're asking if you should follow us, let me answer that for you...yes, yes you should.
In my free time, I do competitive ballroom, yes cue spray tan, fake nails and expensive dress. It's fun and challenging, but there's also a sigh of relief when it's over. We just finished our last one of the year and although there were some hiccups in the road, we made it through!
Obviously I have my blog — that I neglected, oopsy. But sometimes we go through transition periods, creativity drought and dumb doubts — in my case I felt like I was experiencing all of that so taking a step back and regrouping was necessary.
I was really curating my blog and social media to reach an audience and to expand on creativity and entrepreneurship, but I guess that's what really holds us back, the commitment and motivation you need in order to really achieve what you want and the consistency to keep up with it even when your drained or comparing yourself to others.
I think that's what most humanity is lacking to be honest. We all have goals, dreams or ambitions, but it's the commitment and consistency that get lost in the journey — because yeah, it's really freaking hard, duh! I'll be the first one to admit that.
Oh and not to mention, new year's resolutions are coming up — so I shall rewrite the ones from last year and hope this next year is THEE year to accomplish it. *as I scoff at myself*
But for reals, you'll be seeing more of me in the next few weeks, hopefully with some new exciting posts, collaborations, videos and photos, so stay tuned and also wish me luck because I need it, obviously — don't worry, I'll pay it forward. *pinky promise*
