BEAT THE HEAT WITH LAVENDER MINT LEMONADE

Nothing is more refreshing than a glass of ice cold lemonade on a hot summer's day, and recently, it seems like someone has turned up the heat this summer, as well as my lemonade cravings.

Along with my random cravings, I also get random urges to cook or create something. I recently came across recipes of herb infused lemonade and decided to give it a try, and as a result, it came out better than expected—now I am addicted to this: lavender and mint lemonade

I am letting you know now, that I wish I could give you a sample of this because once you taste it, it will become your new favorite drink.

Not only is it deliciously refreshing with the combination of the lemons, the mint and the floral taste of lavender, but it's simple to make and gorgeous to look at (and can also be spiked with vodka!).

What you'll need:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 7 lemons
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 3/4 cup of lavender-mint tea
  • 5 cups of cold watee
  • ice

First, combine the 2 cups of water and sugar in a pan and bring to a boil—this starts the process of the lavender-mint syrup to sweeten the lemon water. Then, remove from heat and stir in the lavender and mint. Let it steep for 5 to 10 minutes.

Cut and juice 6 lemons (save one lemon to cut into slices because, of course, you'll need a side of lemons with this drink). Combine lemon juice, water and the lavender-mint syrup in a pitcher. And you're done—just stir, add ice and enjoy!

I added a few lemon slices and a sprinkle of loose tea in my drink, but feel free to add a sprig of mint. For an extra kick of sassiness—only if you're over 21—add some vodka and club soda to the mix like the recipe from Spices in My DNA.

This simple lemonade is a new favorite, full of a refreshing and floral flavor, that it sure to be divine all summer long—and I'll probably even crave it during the winter months, as well. It's THAT good!
